How does 1000 Books work?

  •  Register Online Here – Parents you can create an account first to easily monitor your children's activity.
  • Track Your Reading – Log every book you read with your child here
  •  Read to you child. Studies show that reading with your child provides a great opportunity for bonding. Reading together is fun and will create life-long memories.
  • Check in with us in the Children’s room each time you hit 100 books read.
  • If a sibling, grandparent, aunt, or uncle reads to your child, that counts, too!

This is a program available to any child Birth up until they begin Kindergarten.

The program is self-paced, so it can take anywhere from a few months to a few years to complete.

Once you sign up through the READsquared app, stop by the children’s desk at the Southwick Public library or email Molly at mencarnacion@cwmars.org

Put reading first, with 20 minutes a day spent reading to your children.
Make it fun and exciting. Be imaginative.

If you read just 1 book a day, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years, and 1,095 books in just three years!
